Deathmaster (1972)

Deathmaster is without a doubt, one of the cheesiest vampire movies I've ever seen, it's also one of the most badly acted films I've ever seen and I've seen my fair share of horror films and bad acting over the years. Now, in spite of all that, Deathmaster is a fun little flick from the drive-in movie days of the 1970's. It's no Count Yorga that's for sure and for those who know of that character, one would think that it may be the third installment of that series because of Robert Quarry playing the vampire once again. But it's not. I first saw this flick on satellite TV back in my teenage days and didn't remember much about it other than it being a vampire flick. Having watched it now, I could write about this commentary a little more better. The acting, if you want to call it acting, is bad, full of hippie dialogue spliced in with whatever marijuana was smoked during the filming. The script is terrible, but for some reason, the pacing is good. I go into these low budget films knowing what to expect each and every time and Deathmaster is nothing more than a forgotten cheesy film that vampire fans will get a kick out of. Make sure to have a toke before you watch....
