Beast of War (2025)

It seems like every year there's an abundance of shark films that get released mostly around the summer time rarely ever in the fall trying to be the next Jaws. I'll make this short & sweet. No shark film will ever take the mantle that is Jaws. Not even Jaws 2, 3, or even *shudder Jaws 4. Anyways, I can appreciate a good shark film every now & then when done properly and not cheap garbage. Beast of War is one of the good ones. For once it's not a bunch of typical teenagers on a beach, vacation, or scuba diving and are hunted by sharks. I say Beast of War is good, but it isn't without it's faults. The first 30 minutes of the film we meet our cast of characters who become potential shark bait doing basic training or whatever of the sort. It's when they are on the raft, the action takes place. Script isn't bad, but could have trimmed a little bit of the 30 minutes of the basic training stuff in the beginning. Acting isn't bad, it's better than your stereotypical teens who would have acted a lot worse if they were in the same situation as the soldiers are in this movie. I did have fun with Beast of War and I appreciated that it was something different for a change.
