A Colt is my Passport (1967)

I've said countless times in 5 years that I'm not just a horror & action guy. I like to expand my horizons, try different genres, watch films from overseas. I wasn't that guy years ago when I started movie collecting and I regret that. The film snob in me wouldn't dare watch a black and white film, or anything "old". Anything horror, anything action, I just collected and collected and collected. I've really as of late, tried to expand my horizons a lot more and watch more films that I wouldn't have watched as a teenager. A Colt is my Passport was a film I've never heard of, never knew it existed until I read an article about it on Joblo.com and of course the film is being remade as if Hollywood is forging new ground with this. I've sourced a copy, watched it and A Colt is my Passport is not a bad action flick from Japan. The only issue I had with it is the pacing in some scenes. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the film immensely. It's not your typical action flick, but it was decent enough as is. The problem was the pacing. Some scenes I found dragged a little bit which resulted in me tuning out. In order to really sell me, you need to have good pacing. If there's pointless fodder along the way, then you've lost me. Other than that, acting, script, everything else was not bad. I mentioned a remake is on the way for next year and I can't fathom why it's needed. You like a film, great. It doesn't need to be remade. Leave it be and come up with your own ideas.

I'm Jeff Roman.
