The Mangler (1995)

Going through the first set of my 3,000+ movie collection is a task all in itself. I have plans to go through and see what other films I have in my collection, be it horror, action, you name it. the first set I came across is the Mangler trilogy. The Mangler is a good little horror flick. The idea of a possessed laundry pressing machine isn't all that original, but for the time it may have well been. The first time I watched The Mangler was back in my 20's. I've said many times, that I searched for and found a bunch of horror flicks to add to my collection and always had to make sure they were uncut and not a cut print from overseas. I remember being impressed by Robert Englund's performance as the villain. Just the character, his background, a fantastic job from him. He may very well be known as Freddy Krueger, but he's more than that. Ted Levine, a good character actor in the few films I've seen of his. Though at times in The Mangler, I couldn't understand him. Perhaps it's the accent or how he voiced the character. Not saying he did bad, just maybe it's me. The movie itself while I did say is good, it is cheesy, but it's a good cheese. It is based on a short story by Stephen King and unlike The Lawnmower Man which had nothing to do with Stephen King's story, this is pretty much the same as the short story. It's a shame that the film is forgotten as more horror fans need to discover this gem.

Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
