In 1993, Brandon Lee, the son of Bruce Lee was killed on the set of The Crow due to a firearm mishap and because of the incident, firearm safety increased dramatically on film sets. In 2021 on the set of Rust, Alec Baldwin accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins which resulted in the film shutting down for awhile. This was a huge story in the news where the armor of the flick failed to do her job as a firearms safety expert. How did a live round make it's way to the set is the bigger question. I assumed because of the incident that the film would be shelved and never be released. To my surprise, the movie was released this past Friday and despite the controversy surrounding the film, it's a neat little film. Alec Baldwin & the rest of the cast do a great job with the script. I love the background setting as I'm always a sucker for films set in the 1800's or less. For those who watch the film, try to find where they started shooting again after the tragedy.
If you watch the film, expect it to be a little slow in parts, but for what's it worth, I'm glad all proceeds of the film will go to Halyna's family.
