Cobra is a slice of 80's cheese. It's a classic bad movie but it's my favorite bad movie from Stallone. It's got everything from cheesy dialogue, a scary bad guy with a look that will give you nightmares and more cheesy dialogue.
Every once in awhile, there's always a killer clown film that ends up being good, It, Clown... There's a few more but they escape me at the moment. Unfortunately, Clown in a Cornfield isn't a good film. Despite some cool kills and a interesting premise, there are two things that stood out to me when watching the film. The pacing was sluggish which tuned me out at times which is a shame because I really wanted to like Clown in a Cornfield. The script needed work which results in it's clunky pacing and if there's one thing I despise it's social media influencers. Every horror film I've seen has characters that are addicted to social media and all I want to say is a get a job. I can't stand them at all. But I'm trailing off here. Apparently, this is based on a book series and they are coming out with book 4. If they really want to do another film, I suggest writing a strong script to maintain the pacing or *shudder, a soft reboot of the film. I can'...
If there's one thing that you won't see me comment on a lot of in this blog are romance movies as I find them to be too sappy for my liking. But for this Valentine's Day, my wife has picked out a few romance movies she wanted to check out and even put together a list for my blog. She has a few ideas on other movies I should check out so, I can't wait to see what she has in store. Please do bear in mind for the few romance films that I do a commentary on here. Purple Hearts is a sappy romance flick whose main character I found extremely irradiating in the beginning. If there is one thing I hate in a film is dealing with characters who are annoying. In any other film, I'd expect them to be killed off within an hour, here I had to put with it throughout the entire film. I've seen a few romance films back in the day and the script for Purple Hearts is as sappy as you can get. Pacing is a little slow. Why does this film need to be 2 hours???? Acting is decent. Overal...
I don't watch a lot of films that depict gangs but when I do, they're usually mediocre at best. But there's one film that I have enjoyed since I was a teenager and I remember playing the video game for hours, The Warriors. With a killer soundtrack and creepy background, The Warriors is truly one of the best films ever made. The script is phenomenal along with the acting. It may be a movie about gang life, but it's got some amazing acting performances. The pacing moves at warp speed. This is one of those rare moments where I wished this film had a sequel, but I'm glad it never did. The film is beautiful as it is and no sequel, no remake would ever come close to this. In conclusion, if you want to watch a great film about gangs, The Warriors is the one for you. I'm Jeff Roman. 5/5
