Night of the Demons 3 (1997)

Image
Night of the Demons 3 is slightly better then the second film. I think mainly the reason I wasn't into part 2 was because it didn't take place at the haunted funeral home like in the first movie. This one here, takes us back to the funeral home with Angela having more fun taunting her victims. Night of the Demons 3 has some pacing issues at the beginning but once we get to the action, it doesn't slow down. I'm glad it ended after 3 movies because what else could have been done with this franchise had it continued with a part 4? There was a remake in 2009, but I'll get to that one later. Overall, I enjoyed rewatching the trilogy and recommend it to anyone who loves horror. 3/5

Night of the Demons 2 (1994)

Image
Night of the Demons 2 I can recall as a kid seeing the vhs cover along with part 3 at my local video store in East York Toronto. I was really curious about it that I didn't get a chance to see these until years later in high school. I was a heavy horror movie guy finding and collecting many of these. As I get older, I live with the mindset of not everything deserves a sequel, but Night of the Demons 2, as fun as this movie is, It wasn't that great. It's got enough to satisfy horror fans but it didn't satisfy me enough. I think it's the weakest of the 3 films. 2/5

Night of the Demons (1988)

Image
Night of the Demons is your typical 80's slasher with a bunch of horror cliches for it's time. Many slashers were made in the 80's to try and capitalize on Friday the 13th's success. Many succeeded while others faded in obscurity. Night of the Demons is one that succeeded. If there's one thing I love about slashers is the characters. Once you meet them and try to get an understanding of their personality, you'll be strapped in for a fun ride. Anyways, Night of the Demons is fast-paced, fun and gory and will satisfy slasher hounds. 3/5

Street Trash (1987)

Image
Street Trash is a bizarre weird film. It's so bizarre that at times I found it amusing, but in the end I felt disappointed by it. The main plot was about this alcoholic drink called Viper which causes people to melt but I was hoping there would be a little more back story on where this drink came from and who made it. I appreciate the efforts here with this movie but in the end I felt disappointed.  2 1/2/5

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)

Image
As I said in my review for the first Deadpool movie, I'm not a fan of the superhero genre as I believe it's oversaturated the market. But I do like the original Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire & Deadpool and that's enough for me. All the cameos from the various superheroes in Deadpool & Wolverine I could live without watching with the exception of Blade. I could have done without Channing Tatum's Gambit character and that French accent. I'm just glad a movie version never came to be. All in all, the movie itself is fun, crazy and crazier. Did I mention crazy? 5/5

Deadpool 2 (2018)

Image
Deadpool 2 is a hilarious follow-up to the original Deadpool. Once again, Ryan Reynolds & the rest of the cast bring the fun and funnies to this sequel. I think at this point, Deadpool is my favorite superhero or should I say anti-superhero of all time. 4/5

Deadpool (2016)

Image
I'm not normally interested in superhero films, but the performance of Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool and the subsequent sequels are enough for me to enjoy. If Reynolds keeps on making them, I'll keep on watching them. 4/5

Absolution (2024)

Image
Going into Absolution, I expected it to be another typical Liam Neeson action flick judging by the poster & trailer. Ever since the first Taken movie, Neeson has been pigeonholed into the action genre playing the same type of character with a particular set of skills. I don't mind them personally as I call them Saturday night flicks. Absolution is not an action flick. It's more of a dramatic film with action sequences in spurts. It reminded me of the last film I saw of Neeson's, Memory, where it was an action film with dramatic moments. Overall it was decent. 3/5

Armor (2024)

Image
After 10 weeks of watching the second season of Tulsa King, I need another Sylvester Stallone movie to watch and his latest film, "Armor" was just released this past Friday. Armor is nothing more than your typical action film but this time Stallone isn't playing the hero, he's the bad guy which is a rarity for him. The film is cheesy, but it's a fun flick that doesn't waste time getting to the action.  3/5

Starship Troopers (1997)

Image
Starship Troopers is another film that's been on my radar for a long time. I call it a tribute to the 1950's monster movies. It may feel corny in some parts, but that's what adds to the fun of it. I was really surprised with how much I enjoyed it. What I really liked was the practical use of special effects. I could tell in a few instances of early CGI, but it didn't detract from viewing. I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this film.  3/5

Black Cab (2024)

Image
Black Cab started out perfect but once we got into the middle of the movie is when it started to peter out. There was a good idea in there. Nick Frost (who also co-wrote some additional material) and the rest of the cast did their best with what was given but couldn't be saved by this crappy script.  1/5

Forget Me Not (2009)

Image
Forget Me Not is your late 2000's typical teen slasher that adds nothing new. During this time, we had horror remakes, J-horror and torture porn invading the horror genre. These types of slashers can be forgettable but there was a few things in this that got me invested and I had a good time with it. It did it's job, nothing more nothing less. 2/5

Shoot to Kill (1988)

Image
I did a double feature watching Shoot to Kill along with The Patriot and this one was a lot better then The Patriot. Fun, entertaining and great acting by everyone involved especially Sidney Poitier. 3/5

The Patriot (1986)

Image
The Patriot is a bad action movie. It's your typical cliche of cheese. I rarely ever get bored watching an action flick, but this one was truly boring. Not even Leslie Nielsen's brief role could save this. I feel like he was embarrassed to be there.  1/5

Blood Bath (1975)

Image
Blood Bath is a low budget anthology horror movie that was decent but nothing special. I found the acting especially in story 3, to be not funny but horrible. Anthology films are supposed to be fun with a decent wraparound after the stories but I couldn't find anything fun with this one. Creepshow it is not. 1/5

The Tunnel (2011)

Image
Found footage movies are hit or miss. There's a lot of bad ones out there that finding a good one is a lot of hard work. The Tunnel is one of those good ones. It plays out like a faux documentary and then adds the horror elements in. It has your typical cliches, "we got to film everything" line or the shaky cam when running away. Is it scary... yes? but it's one of those good found footage films that you should check out when you can. 3/5

Of Unknown Origin (1983)

Image
Of Unknown Origin is one of those films where when I saw the trailer it misled me into thinking it was some sort of supernatural horror movie and it's not. It's a thriller and a damn good one I might add. Peter Weller is so likeable in this movie that you feel bad for him going through all this trouble just to kill one huge rat in his house. This film passed by my radar many times and I kept putting it off. I'm glad I finally watched it because the film is really good. 3/5

Ragdoll (1999)

Image
Ragdoll is one of those Full Moon movies that suffer the same issue with some of the other Full Moon movie, padding that adds nothing to the plot. I find that's the main issue with a lot of these later films from the company. The acting is horrible and don't get me started on the main villain, a ragdoll. The voice of the ragdoll sounded like a dying cat. There's some funny moments in Ragdoll but the movie is straight up trash. 1/5

The Incredible Melting Man (1977)

Image
Going into a film like this, I didn't know what to expect. Though after viewing the trailer, I expected it to be very cheesy. It did exceed my expectations. The Incredible Melting Man is a fun campy B flick that doesn't take itself too seriously and relies more on the camp factor. The movie is saved not by it's acting which isn't good, but it's special effects. If you don't take it serious, you'll have a lot of fun with this like I did. 3/5

Blood Salvage (1990)

Image
Blood Salvage is one of those films that shouldn't be taken seriously. At times it felt like a copycat of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre but without the cannibalism subplot. Blood Salvage is a film that you can either shake your head or laugh at the bad acting. Movies like these are why I love to do little reviews like this just so maybe other people could check them out and form their own opinion. 2/5

Leprechaun 4: In Space (1997)

Image
Jason & Pinhead are two horror villains that have gone to space. But during the same time as Pinhead went to space, the Leprechaun decided to join the ride. As I've mentioned in my previous review for 3, they dropped most of the horror and leaned more towards the comedy. In part 4, they seem to have done a bit of a reversal. The comedy is still there, the horror aspect seems to have slightly gone up just a little bit. The writing in 4 is bad, but everyone does their best with what they're given.  2/5

Leprechaun 3 (1995)

Image
Movies like Leprechaun 3 are why I admire the DTV (Direct to Video) market. They don't hold back and are able to take more risks then Hollywood. It's clear that with the third installment in the series, they dropped most of the horror and leaned towards the comedy more. Let's be honest, the Leprechaun movies aren't necessarily horror but more of a comedy franchise. The kills are funny, the acting while subpar, there's lots of fun to be found in these types of movies. I sometimes wish I could travel back in time, go to the nearest video store and rent the new movie of the week whether it's horror or action. 2/5
