Hokum (2026)
A lot of horror movies have that ahole character that you just despise so much that by the end of the movie you expect them to either A: Be killed off or B: Have some sort of redemption that they change their ways. I'm not going to tell you what the answer is here as you need to see the movie for yourself. Hokum in my opinion is a great movie that has more thriller elements with some horror sequences added in. I must admit that when me & the wife saw the trailer, we were initially skeptical as it didn't explain much and expected it to be a slow burn. While there may have been some confusing moments, Hokum isn't a slow burn at all. By the end of the film, we were able to piece it together on what we thought. The best thing that came from this film is the performance by Adam Scott. He plays an ahole quite well that the moment you hear & see the arrogance from his character, you'd pretty much would be thinking exactly as I said in the beginning.
Overall, trailers may mislead people at times, but Hokum was quite a surprise and keep your eyes peeled if you notice any googly-eyed clowns.
