Buried Alive (1990)
I've despised Universal on many things. For starters, the studio interference on Phantasm 2 which makes me think they have some sort of snobbish view on horror films and releasing Buried Alive on TV instead of theaters. I believe Buried Alive should have been a theatrical release as it's really good. Releasing it onto television opens all doors to restrictions. I guess Universal know more then us. But I know more about horror films & what people want compared to these Hollywood studios. Anyway, that's a subject for another time. Buried Alive is a great little thriller that's got enough energy to make you enjoy it. Everything from script, acting, pacing is nothing short of perfection. Tim Matheson is likeable as always. I don't know what it is, but every time I see him on screen, he's just got that buddy quality where he'd hit you up for a beer afterwards and Jennifer Jason Leigh, I've seen some of her work and she does a great job as the villain. Overall, Buried Alive is a fun thriller and I think it's due for a rewatch along with it's sequel.
