Dolly (2026)

Dolly is a film that sounds rather interesting on paper. But it tries way too hard to be taken seriously as a slasher as there are sequences that I found quite humorous. As I was reading into Dolly, I heard rumblings about spawning a franchise and this brings up red flags for me. First off, not everything needs a franchise and second, less is more. I don't need everything to be explained to me the audience goer, I like to think about a film and give my opinion on it whether it's true or not. The script for Dolly really aims for shock & gross out sequences which as I said is more funny to me than shock. The acting is okay. If it wasn't for Sean William Scott appearing in this film, I probably would have passed. Pacing on Dolly is decent. It spends too much time trying to gross the audience then pick up it's story.

Overall, Dolly is no Jason and is definitely no Freddy Kreuger. I'll give it props for it being something slightly different. But a sequel is not needed.

I'm Jeff Roman.
