Chato's Land (1972)

Growing up I was raised into watching older films. People my age would dismiss them as "old & outdated". But there's something truly special about watching films from a different time.  They don't rely on CGI or show off their massive budget. They do a concise story. Movies like Chato's Land & Death Wish have content that a lot of people would find offensive and or racist and I say, who cares. I'm no racist, I don't have a mean bone in my body. I've never been in a fight. What I believe we as a society should do is show people films and explain how far we have come along and how we can improve. Banning and censoring films because of outdated content is covering up the past and that's a dangerous way of thinking. Enough of my political rant. Chato's Land is in my opinion, a very good Charles Bronson film. I rank it up there with Death Wish & Mr. Majestyk as his best work. He doesn't speak more then 15 lines in the entire film, but seeing him on screen, you wouldn't want to mess with him. The script is typical as you'd expect from a Bronson flick. Acting is very good. I find a lot of actors from the good old days of films act a hell of a lot better then the actors today. Pacing is okay. A little slow in some parts, but not bad. Overall, I've seen many of Bronson's movies and I'm always looking forward to seeing more of his work. He may not possess the good looks of Clint Eastwood or Gene Hackman. But he's certainly one of the best actors from the golden age.

I'm Jeff Roman.
