Twister (1996)

The 1970's started the disaster film genre. Thanks to Irwin Allen, we got many classics like The Poseidon Adventure (1972), Earthquake (1974), Two Minute Warning (1976) & Airport '77 (1977). Classics that get better with age. In the 1990's, I believe Hollywood attempted to reboot the disaster film genre and try to bring that nostaglia back from the 70's and incorporate it into the disaster films of that time. We had classics like Dante's Peak, Volcano (1997), Deep Impact (1999), Armaggedon (1998), & Daylight (1996). But there was one that really took off and made the summer box office explode and that was Twister (1996).

I have to confess, I've never seen Twister until last night. I know my parents had the exact poster that I've posted in this review down below. I've only ever seen bits and pieces of it. So, I sat down with the wife and watched and couldn't believe how good it was. Everything from the acting, the story, and effects were amazing. I like to think of it as a love letter to the 70's genre.
